Many designers unintentionally create designs for a wide audience that is full of biases. Along side this the design is also not inclusive and accessible to all users. Designers unintentionally implement unethical UX practices due to lack of awareness. There is widely recognized, interactive, and structured educational platform dedicated to teaching ethical design practices at scale.
Fairframe bridges the gap with hands on learning, real time reviews, AI bias simulation, and gamified ethical testing. The application allows the user to learn about ethics and biases they create on a daily basis in their designs by participating in challenges, taking up courses, getting their designs reviewed by professional seasoned designers, and taking part in the Fairframe community.
Research is the cornerstone of a successful project. The research was divided into primary and secondary research. Secondary research was done by analyzing 3+ literature reviews, user personas, 10+ articles, empathy, and affinity mappings. Primary research was done by conducting 5+ user interviews, surveys with 30+ responses, and other observations.
Overall design of the application revolved around having a clean and simple design. Keeping things as frictionless as possible. Simple light colors were used to keep things light, blue color portrays security and trust and that is why it became the primary color of the application. Further work was done on logos, community section, and overall badges for the user.
